Sparring
When sparring with other students, the attitude to take is one of controlled aggression. You don’t want to just wait for something to happen, nor do you want to fly at the person with reckless abandon. Unless expressly stated, striking of any kind is NOT allowed in a sparring setting.
In every case, the ‘rules’ of the sparring will be implicitly understood by both parties, and are further described below. A tap-out or a verbal submission signifies the end of the match.
Any techniques applied without control or with intent to injure your sparring partner may result in expulsion from the class. Nobody wants to go home hurt, and being excessively forceful is not going to make your techniques any better. Play hard, but play clean and play fair.
